Regarding the relocation of the district town of Muong Lay District, Lai Chau Province

THE GOVERNMENT
Pursuant to the Government Organization Law dated September 30, 1992;
Considering the proposal of the Chairman of the People's Committee of Lai Chau Province, the Minister of Construction, and the Minister, Head of the Organization-Cadres Department of the Government,
DECREE:
Article 1. - Now, the administrative boundaries of Dien Bien District, Muong Lay District are adjusted, and the location of the district town of Muong Lay District is relocated as follows:
1. Dissolve the town of Muong Lay under Muong Lay District, transfer all land (827.5 hectares) and part of the population (879 people) of the town of Muong Lay to the management of Lay Nua Commune.
After adjusting the administrative boundaries, Lay Nua Commune has 6,167.5 hectares of natural area and 4,638 inhabitants.
2. Transfer Muong Mun Commune under Dien Bien District to be managed by Muong Lay District.
After the adjustment of administrative boundaries:
- Dien Bien District has 164,963 hectares of natural area and 96,562 inhabitants.
- Muong Lay District has 323,027.5 hectares of natural area and 55,641 inhabitants.
3. Establish a new Muong Lay Town based on 1,026 hectares of natural area and 584 inhabitants of Ban Na Pheo, Muong Mun Commune, and 1,433 inhabitants of the old Muong Lay Town.
The new Muong Lay Town has 1,026 hectares of natural area and 2,017 inhabitants.
Administrative boundary of Muong Lay Town: East, West, and South bordering Muong Mun Commune; North bordering Houileng Commune.
After adjusting the administrative boundaries, Muong Mun Commune has 25,974 hectares of natural area and 4,202 inhabitants.
Article 2. - This Decree takes effect 15 days from the date of issuance; all previous regulations contrary to this Decree are abolished.
