THE MINISTER OF TRANSPORTATION

Pursuant to Decree No. 22/CP dated March 22, 1994 of the Government on the tasks, powers, responsibilities for state management and organizational structure of the Ministry of Transport;

Pursuant to Article 10, Chapter 2 of the Quality of Goods Ordinance issued pursuant to Decision No. 18/1999/PL-UBTVQH10 dated December 24, 1999 of the Standing Committee of the National Assembly;

Pursuant to Decree No. 86/CP dated December 8, 1995 of the Government stipulating the division of responsibilities for state management of product quality;

At the proposal of the Heads of the Science and Technology Department and the Vietnam Inland Waterways Administration;

DECISION:

Article 1. Issued together with this Decision is the Industry Standard:

"RULES FOR INLAND WATERWAY MARKING IN VIETNAM"

Article 2. This Industry Standard replaces Rules for Inland Waterway Marking in Vietnam issued pursuant to Decision No. 1538 QĐ/KHKT dated August 3, 1992 and Decisions Nos. 2050 QĐ/PC dated August 6, 1996 and 1302 QĐ/KHKT dated May 20, 1997 of the Ministry of Transport and shall take effect from April 1, 2001. During the implementation of this standard, if any points requiring supplementation are discovered, Units must report to the Ministry for consideration and resolution.

Article 3. The Vietnam Inland Waterways Administration Director is assigned to guide the implementation and monitor the application of this standard nationwide.

Article 4. The Heads of the Science and Technology Department, Legal Affairs Department, Vietnam Inland Waterways Administration, Directors of Provincial Departments of Transport and Public Works, and Heads of organizations and individuals related to inland waterway transport activities are responsible for enforcing this decision./.
