Regarding the issuance of regulations on bear management

THE MINISTER OF AGRICULTURE AND RURAL DEVELOPMENT

Pursuant to Decree No. 86/2003/NĐ-CP dated July 18, 2003 of the Government stipulating the functions, tasks, powers, and organizational structure of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development;

Pursuant to Decree No. 32/2006/NĐ-CP dated March 30, 2006 of the Government on the management of endangered and precious forest plants and animals;

Pursuant to Document No. 2822/VPCP-NN dated June 7, 2004 of the Government Office regarding the Plan for Handling Captive Bears in Vietnam;

Considering the proposal of the Director of the Forest Protection Department.

Article 1. The attached Regulations on Bear Management are hereby promulgated.

Article 2. This Decision shall take effect fifteen days from the date of publication in the Official Gazette.

Article 3. The previous regulations of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development concerning the management of illegally held captive bears are hereby abolished.

Article 4. The Head of the Ministry's Office, the Director of the Forest Protection Department, relevant units under the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, and related organizations and individuals are responsible for implementing this Decision./.
