DECREE-LAW

No. 48 dated October 9, 1945

CHAIRMAN OF THE PROVISIONAL GOVERNMENT OF THE DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC OF VIETNAM

Upon the proposal of the Department of National Economy,

Considering that delays in economic sectors are detrimental to the livelihood of the people,

 

ENACTS:

Article 1: Pending the promulgation of a law defining the legal status of foreign companies or industrial and commercial enterprises in Vietnam, existing foreign companies shall be permitted to continue their business operations as before.

Article 2: However, for the sake of public order, the Government of Vietnam has the right to supervise and, if necessary, establish specialized bodies to carry out this task.

Article 3: The Ministers of Interior Affairs and National Economy are hereby entrusted with the implementation of this decree-law./.
