ISSUED BY THE MINISTRY OF FINANCE DECREE NO. 49/1998/TT/BTC DATED APRIL 13, 1998 GUIDING AMENDMENTS AND SUPPLEMENTS TO CIRCULAR NO. 66/TT/LB DATED AUGUST 12, 1994 ON GUIDELINES FOR AMENDING FEE LEVELS FOR CONSULAR FEES AS PROVIDED IN CIRCULAR NO. 83/TT-LB DATED OCTOBER 4, 1993
Pursuant to Decree No. 189/HĐBT dated June 4, 1992 of the Council of Ministers (now the Government) detailing the implementation of the Consular Ordinance, the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued Circular No. 83/TT-LB dated October 4, 1993 on the collection system for consular fees abroad, and Circular No. 66/TT/LB dated August 12, 1994 amending fee levels for consular fees in Circular No. 83/TT-LB dated October 4, 1993;
To implement Decision No. 767/TTg dated September 17, 1997 of the Prime Minister on major policies and measures concerning overseas Vietnamese communities, and at the request of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Document No. 304 NG-UBNV dated March 16, 1998, the Ministry of Finance issues supplementary guidance to amend Point 1 of Circular No. 66/TT/LB dated August 12, 1994 as follows:
Consular fees for Vietnamese residing in Thailand shall be collected at fifty percent (50%) of the levels prescribed in Circular No. 83/TT-LB dated October 4, 1993. This Circular takes effect fifteen days from its date of issuance. Other provisions not addressed herein shall continue to be implemented according to the guidelines set forth in Circulars No. 66/TT/LB dated August 12, 1994 and No. 83/TT-LB dated October 4, 1993 issued by the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs regarding consular fee collection.
Any difficulties encountered during implementation should be reported to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Finance for study and resolution.
