Decree No. 5/SL Regarding the Appointment of Mr. Nguyen Thưởng as Director of the Office of the Ministry of National Defense and Director of the Office of the General Command of the National Army and Vietnam People's Military.

NO. 5/SL OF FEBRUARY 1, 1949

THE PRESIDENT OF THE DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC OF VIETNAM

Pursuant to Decree-Law No. 57-SL dated May 3, 1946 organizing the Ministries;

Pursuant to Decree No. 34 dated May 22, 1946 and Decree-Law No. 35-SL dated March 9, 1947 organizing the Ministry of National Defense;

Pursuant to Decree-Law No. 47-SL dated May 1, 1947 organizing the General Staff Office;

At the proposal of the Minister of National Defense and Chief Commander of the National Army and People's Militia of Vietnam;

ISSUES THE FOLLOWING DECREE:

Article 1: Appoints Mr. Nguyen Thuong, former Secretary of the Ministry of National Defense and Chief Commander, to hold the position of Director of the Office of the Ministry of National Defense concurrently with Director of the General Staff Office of the National Army and People's Militia of Vietnam in place of Mr. Le Trong Nghia who has been assigned other duties.

Article 2: The Minister of National Defense and Chief Commander of the National Army and People's Militia of Vietnam shall implement this Decree-Law accordingly.
