Decision No. 7/1998/QD-TTg on changing members of the Central Steering Committee for Flood and Storm Prevention

DECISION OF THE PRIME MINISTER

Regarding the establishment of the State Steering Committee

for the project to plant five million hectares of forest from 1998 to 2010.

PRIME MINISTER

Pursuant to the Government Organization Law dated September 30, 1992;

Considering the proposal of the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development (Letter No. 8405-NN/PTLN/CV dated December 26, 1997),

DECISION:

Article 1- The State Steering Committee for the project to plant five million hectares of forest from 1998 to 2010 is hereby established, with the central committee comprising the following members:

1. Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Cong Tan shall serve as Chairman.

2. The Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development shall serve as Vice Chairman in charge of day-to-day operations.

3. Leaders of the Ministries and agencies: Planning and Investment, National Ethnic Minorities Commission, Finance, Science and Technology and Environment, Defense, Labor - Invalids and Social Affairs, State Bank of Vietnam, Land Administration General Department shall be members of the Steering Committee. 4. Inviting representatives of the National Assembly's Ethnic Council, Vietnam Farmers' Association, Central Communist Youth Union Ho Chi Minh to participate in the Steering Committee.

The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development shall utilize its existing organizational structure to support the management activities of the Steering Committee. - Chairmen of People's Committees of provinces and centrally governed cities shall issue decisions to establish provincial forest planting steering committees, with the Deputy Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee serving as Chairman, and leaders of relevant provincial departments and agencies serving as members of the Steering Committee.

Ministers, heads of ministerial-level agencies, and chairmen of People's Committees of provinces and centrally governed cities are responsible for implementing this Decision.

Article 2The Chairman of the People's Committees of provinces and centrally governed cities shall issue a decision to establish the Provincial Forest Planting Steering Board, headed by the Vice-Chairman of the People's Committee of the province, with leaders of relevant provincial departments as members of the Steering Board.

Article 3. -The Ministers, Heads of ministerial-level agencies and government-attached agencies, and the Chairmen of the People's Committees of provinces and centrally governed cities are responsible for implementing this Decision.
