Resolution No. 780-NQ/TVQH On the Approval of Amendments and the Establishment of New Organizations in the State Machinery

RESOLUTION

NATIONAL ASSEMBLY STANDING COMMITTEE

NATIONAL ASSEMBLY STANDING COMMITTEE

SOCIALIST REPUBLIC OF VIETNAM

Pursuant to Article 53 of the Constitution of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam,

and pursuant to Articles 3 and 4 of the Law on the Organization of the Council of Ministers,

At the proposal of the Council of Ministers,

RESOLVES:

1. Approves the amendment and establishment of certain new organizations within the State apparatus:

- Dividing the Ministry of Heavy Industry into two Ministries and one General Department under the Council of Ministers:

+ Ministry of Electricity and Coal,

+ Ministry of Machinery and Metallurgy,

+ General Department of Chemicals;

- Establishing the Ministry of Foodstuffs and Food Industry based on the merger of the General Department of Foodstuffs with the food processing industry sector separated from the Ministry of Light Industry;

- Establishing the Ministry of Materials based on the current apparatus of the General Department of Materials;

- Establishing the Government Inspectorate.

2. Appointing and relieving certain members of the Council of Ministers:

- Comrade Do Muoi is appointed Deputy Prime Minister and concurrently Director of the Economic Office under the Prime Minister's Office;

- Comrade Tran Danh Tuyen ceases to hold the position of Director of the Industry Office under the Prime Minister's Office to take up the post of Minister of Materials;

- Comrade Nguyen Thanh Binh ceases to hold the position of Director of the Finance and Commerce Office under the Prime Minister's Office to take up the post of Director of the Government Inspectorate;

- Comrade Nguyen Huu Mai ceases to hold the position of Minister of Heavy Industry to take up the post of Minister of Electricity and Coal;

- Comrade Dinh Duc Thien ceases to hold the position of Director of the Logistics General Department under the Ministry of National Defense to take up the post of Minister of Machinery and Metallurgy;

- Comrade Ngo Minh Loan ceases to hold the position of Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam in China to take up the post of Minister of Foodstuffs and Food Industry;

- Comrade Nguyen Lan ceases to hold the position of Deputy Minister of Light Industry to take up the post of Minister concurrently with First Vice-Chairman of the State Planning Commission;

- Comrade Dang Thi is appointed Minister concurrently with Vice-Chairman of the State Planning Commission;

- Comrade Nguyen Van Kha is appointed Minister concurrently with Vice-Chairman of the State Planning Commission;

- Comrade Hoang Anh ceases to hold the position of Director of the Agriculture Office under the Prime Minister's Office.
