THE MINISTER OF AGRICULTURE AND RURAL DEVELOPMENT

Pursuant to Decree No. 01/2008/ND-CP dated January 3, 2008 of the Government stipulating the functions, tasks, powers, and organizational structure of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development;

Pursuant to the Law on Encouragement of Competition and Reward dated November 26, 2003;

Pursuant to Decree No. 121/2005/ND-CP dated September 30, 2005 of the Government detailing and guiding the implementation of certain provisions of the Law on Encouragement of Competition and Reward and the Law Amending and Supplementing Certain Provisions of the Law on Encouragement of Competition and Reward.

At the proposal of the Director of the Cadre and Civil Servant Department,

DECISION:

Article 1. The following are promulgated together with this Decision:

1. The Commemorative Medal "For the Cause of Agriculture and Rural Development" to be awarded to individuals who have made contributions to the cause of Agriculture and Rural Development in Vietnam.

2. Regulations on Awarding the Commemorative Medal "For the Cause of Agriculture and Rural Development".

Article 2. This Decision shall take effect fifteen days from the date of publication in the Official Gazette and shall supersede Decision No. 22/2006/QD-BNN dated March 29, 2006 of the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development on issuing the Commemorative Medal "For the Cause of Agriculture and Rural Development" and Regulations on Awarding the Commemorative Medal "For the Cause of Agriculture and Rural Development"; and Decision No. 12/2006/QD-BTS dated August 28, 2006 of the Minister of Fisheries on issuing Regulations on Awarding the Commemorative Medal "For the Cause of Developing the Fisheries Industry".

Article 3. The Director of the Ministry's Office, Heads of the Cadre and Civil Servant Department, Heads of agencies and units under the Ministry, General Directors of Economic Groups, General Companies 91, and Directors of Departments of Agriculture and Rural Development are responsible for implementing this Decision.
