DECISION
Regarding the "Drug Prevention and Control Month" andthe "National Drug Prevention and Control Day"

PRIME MINISTER
Pursuant to the Law on Government Organization dated September 30, 1992;
Considering the proposal of the Minister of Public Security at the report No. 710/C11 (VPU) dated May 23, 2001,
DECISION:
Article 1. Every year, the month of June shall be designated as the "Drug Prevention and Control Month" and June 26 as the "National Drug Prevention and Control Day".
Article 2. During the "Drug Prevention and Control Month" and the "National Drug Prevention and Control Day" each year, the Ministry of Public Security - the Standing Office for Drug Prevention and Control under the National Committee on HIV/AIDS, Drugs, and Prostitution Prevention and Control shall take the lead and coordinate with members of the National Committee, relevant ministries and sectors, provincial people's committees, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee, and its member organizations to strengthen drug prevention and control activities nationwide; intensify propaganda and mobilize the public to participate in drug prevention and control; and commend and reward collectives and individuals who have outstanding achievements in drug prevention and control work.
Article 3. The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Vietnam Television, Voice of Vietnam Radio, central and local information agencies, and press organizations shall enhance their propaganda efforts regarding drug prevention and control during the "Drug Prevention and Control Month" and the "National Drug Prevention and Control Day".
Article 4. This Decision shall take effect from the date of issuance.
Article 5. The Ministry of Public Security shall be responsible for guiding the implementation of this Decision.
Ministers, Heads of ministerial-level agencies, Heads of agencies under the Government, Heads of related sectors, and Chairpersons of provincial people's committees directly under the central government shall be responsible for implementing this Decision.
