DECREE

Regarding the establishment of Long Khanh town and its affiliated wards and communes; the establishment of Cam My and Trang Bom districts, Dong Nai province

THE GOVERNMENT

Pursuant to the Law on Organization of the Government dated December 25, 2001;
Considering the proposal of the Minister of Home Affairs and the Chairman of the People's Committee of Dong Nai province,

DECREE

Article 1. Now, adjust the administrative boundaries of Long Khanh, Thong Nhat, and Xuan Loc districts to establish Long Khanh town and its affiliated wards and communes; establish Cam My and Trang Bom districts of Dong Nai province as follows:

1. Establish Long Khanh town based on the entire natural area and population of Xuan Loc town and communes: Xuan Lap, Bau Sen, Suoi Tre, Binh Loc, Bao Quang, Bao Vinh, Xuan Tan, Xuan Thanh of Long Khanh district.

Long Khanh town has 19,408.4 hectares of natural area and 130,593 inhabitants.

2. Establish wards and communes under Long Khanh town:

a) Establish Xuan Trung ward based on 100 hectares of natural area and 10,715 inhabitants of Xuan Loc town.

Administrative boundary of Xuan Trung ward: East borders Xuan Thanh ward; West borders Xuan Binh ward; South borders Xuan An ward; North borders Bao Vinh commune.

b) Establish Xuan Thanh ward based on 135.5 hectares of natural area and 7,344 inhabitants of Xuan Loc town.

Administrative boundary of Xuan Thanh ward: East borders Bao Vinh and Bau Tram communes; West borders Xuan Trung and Xuan An wards; South borders Xuan An and Bau Tram communes; North borders Bao Vinh commune.

c) Establish Xuan An ward based on 139 hectares of natural area and 12,733 inhabitants of Xuan Loc town.

Administrative boundary of Xuan An ward: East borders Xuan Thanh ward; West borders Xuan Binh ward; South borders Xuan Hoa and Bau Tram communes; North borders Xuan Trung ward.

d) Establish Xuan Binh ward based on 122.5 hectares of natural area and 9,252 inhabitants of Xuan Loc town.

Administrative boundary of Xuan Binh ward: East borders Xuan An, Xuan Hoa, and Xuan Trung wards; West borders Bau Sen and Suoi Tre communes; South borders Phu Binh ward; North borders Xuan Trung ward and Bao Vinh commune.

đ) Establish Xuan Hoa ward based on 171.4 hectares of natural area and 6,652 inhabitants of Xuan Loc town.

Administrative boundary of Xuan Hoa ward: East borders Bau Tram commune; West borders Xuan Binh ward; South borders Phu Binh ward and Xuan Loc district; North borders Xuan An ward.

e) Establish Phu Binh ward based on 149 hectares of natural area and 5,230 inhabitants of Xuan Loc town.

Administrative boundary of Phu Binh ward: East borders Xuan Tan commune; West borders Bau Sen commune; South borders Xuan Tan commune; North borders Xuan Hoa, Xuan Binh wards and Bau Sen commune.

g) Establish Bau Tram commune based on 1,432 hectares of natural area and 5,296 inhabitants of Xuan Loc town.

Administrative boundary of Bau Tram commune: East borders Xuan Loc district; West borders Xuan Thanh, Xuan An, Xuan Hoa wards; South borders Xuan Loc district; North borders Bao Vinh commune and Xuan Loc district.

h) Change the name of Xuan Thanh commune to Hang Gon commune.

After adjusting the administrative boundaries to establish Long Khanh town and its affiliated wards and communes.

Long Khanh town has 19,408.4 hectares of natural area and 130,593 inhabitants, with 15 subordinate administrative units including wards: Xuan Trung, Xuan Thanh, Xuan An, Xuan Binh, Xuan Hoa, Phu Binh and communes: Xuan Lap, Bau Sen, Suoi Tre, Binh Loc, Bao Quang, Bao Vinh, Xuan Tan, Hang Gon, Bau Tram.

Administrative boundary of Long Khanh town: East borders Xuan Loc district; West borders Thong Nhat district; South borders Cam My district; North borders Thong Nhat, Dinh Quan, Xuan Loc districts.

3. Establish Cam My district based on the entire natural area and population of communes: Xuan Que, Song Nhan, Xuan Duong, Thuong Duc, Nhan Nghia, Long Giao, Xuan My of Long Khanh district; the entire natural area and population of communes: Xuan Bao, Bao Binh, Xuan Dong, Xuan Tay, Song Ray, Lam San of Xuan Loc district.

Cam My district has 46,796 hectares of natural area and 146,572 inhabitants, with 13 subordinate administrative units including communes: Xuan Que, Song Nhan, Xuan Duong, Thuong Duc, Nhan Nghia, Long Giao, Xuan My, Xuan Bao, Bao Binh, Xuan Dong, Xuan Tay, Song Ray, Lam San.

Administrative boundary of Cam My district: East borders Xuan Loc district; West borders Thong Nhat and Long Thanh districts; South borders Ba Ria-Vung Tau province; North borders Long Khanh town and Xuan Loc district.

4. Establish Trang Bom district based on the entire natural area and population of communes: Ho Nai III, Bac Son, Binh Minh, Quang Tien, Song Trau, Tay Hoa, Trung Hoa, Dong Hoa, Hung Thinh, Song Thao, Bau Ham, Giang Dien, An Vien, Doi 61, Cay Gao, Thanh Binh and Trang Bom town of Thong Nhat district.

Trang Bom district has 32,612 hectares of natural area and 177,407 inhabitants, with 17 subordinate administrative units including communes: Ho Nai III, Bac Son, Binh Minh, Quang Tien, Song Trau, Tay Hoa, Trung Hoa, Dong Hoa, Hung Thinh, Song Thao, Bau Ham, Giang Dien, An Vien, Doi 61, Cay Gao, Thanh Binh and Trang Bom town.

Administrative boundary of Trang Bom district: East borders Thong Nhat district; West borders Bien Hoa city; South borders Long Thanh district; North borders Vinh Cuu and Dinh Quan districts.

5. Merge the remaining communes of Xuan Thien and Xuan Thanh of Long Khanh district into Thong Nhat district.

After adjusting the administrative boundaries to establish Long Khanh town and its affiliated wards and communes and Cam My and Trang Bom districts:

Thong Nhat district has 24,720 hectares of natural area and 142,606 inhabitants, with 10 subordinate administrative units including communes: Xuan Thien, Xuan Thanh, Bau Ham II, Gia Tan I, Gia Tan II, Gia Tan III, Gia Kiem, Quang Trung, Luu 25, Hung Loc.

Administrative boundary of Thong Nhat district: East borders Long Khanh town; West borders Trang Bom district; South borders Long Thanh and Cam My districts; North borders Dinh Quan district.

- Xuan Loc district retains 72,679 hectares of natural area and 194,965 inhabitants, with 15 subordinate administrative units including communes: Xuan Hoa, Xuan Hung, Xuan Tam, Xuan Truong, Xuan Thanh, Xuan Hiep, Xuan Ding, Xuan Phu, Xuan Tho, Xuan Bac, Suoi Cao, Suoi Cat, Bao Hoa, Lang Minh and Gia Ray town.

Administrative boundary of Xuan Loc district: East borders Binh Thuan province; West borders Long Khanh town and Cam My district; South borders Cam My district and provinces of Ba Ria-Vung Tau and Binh Thuan; North borders Dinh Quan district and Binh Thuan province.

After adjusting the administrative boundaries, Dong Nai Province has 11 subordinate administrative units including Biên Hòa City, Long Khánh Town, and 9 districts: Tân Phú, Định Quán, Xuân Lộc, Thống Nhất, Vĩnh Cửu, Long Thành, Nhơn Trạch, Cẩm Mỹ, and Trảng Bom.

Article 2. This Decree shall take effect fifteen days after its publication in the Official Gazette. All previous provisions contrary to this Decree are hereby abolished.

Article 3. The Chairman of the People's Committee of Dong Nai Province, the Minister of Home Affairs, and the heads of relevant agencies are responsible for implementing this Decree.
