DECREE
ISSUING THE "REGULATIONS ON THE ACTIVITIES OF VIETNAMESE MEDIA RELATING TO FOREIGN COUNTRIES"
THE GOVERNMENT
Pursuant to the Government Organization Law dated September 30, 1992;
BASED ON THE JOURNALISM LAW OF DECEMBER 28, 1989;
TO STRENGTHEN MANAGEMENT AND ENSURE FAVORABLE CONDITIONS FOR THE ACTIVITIES OF VIETNAMESE MEDIA RELATING TO FOREIGN COUNTRIES;
AT THE PROPOSAL OF THE MINISTER OF CULTURE, SPORTS AND TOURISM AND THE MINISTER OF FOREIGN AFFAIRS,
DECREE
ARTICLE 1. ATTACHED HERETO IS THE:
"REGULATIONS ON THE ACTIVITIES OF VIETNAMESE MEDIA RELATING TO FOREIGN COUNTRIES".
Article 2.
1. MEDIA ORGANIZATIONS, MANAGING AUTHORITIES OF MEDIA ORGANIZATIONS, THE VIETNAM JOURNALISTS ASSOCIATION; HEADS OF MEDIA ORGANIZATIONS, THE VIETNAM JOURNALISTS ASSOCIATION; VIETNAMESE JOURNALISTS; REPORTERS AND EDITORS OF VIETNAMESE MEDIA ORGANIZATIONS; FOREIGN NATIONALS WORKING IN VIETNAMESE MEDIA ORGANIZATIONS; ORGANIZATIONS, ENTITIES, AND INDIVIDUALS RELATED TO THE ACTIVITIES OF VIETNAMESE MEDIA RELATING TO FOREIGN COUNTRIES SHALL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR COMPLYING WITH THESE REGULATIONS.
2. ORGANIZATIONS, ENTITIES, AND INDIVIDUALS WHO VIOLATE THE PROVISIONS OF THESE REGULATIONS SHALL BE SUBJECT TO DISCIPLINARY ACTION ACCORDING TO THE CURRENT LEGISLATION OF VIETNAM, DEPENDING ON THE GRAVITY OF THE VIOLATION.
Article 3. THIS DECREE SHALL TAKE EFFECT 15 DAYS AFTER ITS DATE OF ISSUE. PRIOR PROVISIONS CONTRARY TO THE REGULATIONS ATTACHED HERETO ARE ABROGATED.
THE MINISTERS OF CULTURE, SPORTS AND TOURISM AND FOREIGN AFFAIRS SHALL ISSUE GUIDELINES TO IMPLEMENT THESE REGULATIONS ATTACHED HERETO BEFORE SEPTEMBER 30, 1997.
Article 4. Ministers, Heads of ministerial-level agencies, Heads of government agencies, and Chairpersons of provincial People's Committees directly under the central government are responsible for implementing this Decree.
