Amending and supplementing certain contents in the General Secondary Education Program
issued together with Circular No. 32/2018/TT-BGDĐT dated December 26, 2018

Pursuant to the Education Law dated June 14, 2019;
Pursuant to Resolution No. 63/2022/QH15 of the Third Session of the Fifteenth National Assembly;
Pursuant to Decree No. 69/2017/NĐ-CP dated May 25, 2017 of the Government stipulating the functions, tasks, powers, and organizational structure of the Ministry of Education and Training;
At the proposal of the Director of the Primary Education Department and the Director of the Secondary Education Department;
The Minister of Education and Training issues this Circular amending and supplementing certain contents in the General Secondary Education Program issued together with Circular No. 32/2018/TT-BGDĐT dated December 26, 2018 of the Minister of Education and Training.
Article 1. Amending and supplementing certain contents of the overall program in the General Secondary Education Program issued together with Circular No. 32/2018/TT-BGDĐT dated December 26, 2018 of the Minister of Education and Training
1. Amending and supplementing the item "2. Career Orientation Stage" in Part "IV. EDUCATION PLAN" as follows:
"2. Career Orientation Stage
2.1. Educational Content
Compulsory subjects and educational activities: Literature; Mathematics; Foreign Language 1; History; Physical Education; National Defense and Security Education; Experiential and Vocational Guidance Activities; Local Educational Content.
Elective subjects: Geography, Economic and Legal Education, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Technology, Information Technology, Music, Fine Arts.
Students choose 4 elective subjects from the above list.
Learning topics: Each subject of Literature, Mathematics, History, Geography, Economic and Legal Education, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Technology, Information Technology, Music, and Fine Arts has several learning topics forming a cluster of learning topics for each subject aimed at deep differentiation, helping students enhance knowledge and practical skills, apply learned knowledge and skills to solve practical problems, meet career orientation requirements. The duration allocated for each learning topic is 10 or 15 periods; the total duration allocated for a cluster of learning topics for one subject is 35 periods per academic year. In each grade 10, 11, and 12, students select 3 clusters of learning topics from 3 subjects that align with their personal aspirations and the organizational capacity of the school.
Schools may develop subject combinations from the above subjects and learning topics to meet student needs while ensuring compatibility with the teaching staff, facilities, and equipment conditions of the school.
Self-selected subjects: Ethnic Minority Languages, Foreign Language 2.
2.2. Educational Duration
Each day consists of one session, each session does not exceed 5 periods; each period lasts 45 minutes. Encouraging secondary schools with appropriate conditions to implement two sessions per day according to the guidelines of the Ministry of Education and Training.

2. Amending and supplementing the second bullet point "- Career Orientation Stage", item "3. Social Science Education" in Part "V. GUIDANCE ON EDUCATIONAL CONTENT" as follows:
“ -Career Orientation Stage
In grade 10, the History and Geography subjects help students understand the general characteristics of historical science and geographical science, related professions, the application of historical and geographical knowledge in life, while reinforcing and expanding the core basic knowledge and skills formed during the foundational education stage through topics and learning topics on fundamental issues of history and geography, providing a solid foundation for students to have clear and suitable career orientations.
In grades 11 and 12, the History subject focuses on topics and learning topics in various fields of historiography such as political history, economic history, cultural history, military history, social history, interaction and integration of Vietnam with the region and the world,...; the Geography subject concentrates on topics and learning topics about world geography (regions, exemplary countries) and Vietnamese geography (natural, socio-economic) to support students with career orientations in the field of social sciences and humanities as well as some related fields."
Article 2. Amend and supplement certain contents of the General Secondary Education Program for History issued together with Circular No. 32/2018/TT-BGDĐT dated December 26, 2018 of the Minister of Education and Training. (The General Secondary Education Program for History attached hereto).
Article 3. Implementation Provisions
1. This Circular takes effect from August 3, 2022.
2. The Heads of the Office, the Heads of the Primary Education Department, the Heads of the Secondary Education Department, and the Heads of relevant units under the Ministry of Education and Training, the Chairpersons of the People's Committees of provinces and centrally governed cities, the Directors of Departments of Education and Training, and related organizations and individuals are responsible for implementing this Circular./.
