DECISION
On the issuance of sample documents regarding Vietnamese nationality

THE MINISTER OF JUSTICE
Pursuant to Decree No. 38/CP dated June 4, 1993 of the Government on the functions, tasks, powers and organizational structure of the Ministry of Justice;
Pursuant to Decree No. 104/1998/NĐ-CP dated December 31, 1998 of the Government detailing and guiding the implementation of the Law on Vietnamese Nationality;
After reaching a consensus with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs;
At the proposal of the Director of the International Cooperation Department and the Director of the Notarization, Appraisal, Civil Status, Nationality, and Personal History Records Management Department, Ministry of Justice,
DECIDES:
Article 1. To issue with this Decision 19 sample documents (*) concerning the acquisition, reacquisition, renunciation, and issuance of Vietnamese nationality-related documents (hereinafter referred to as sample nationality documents) listed and numbered in the attached List.
Article 2. The sample nationality documents prescribed in Article 1 of this Decision shall be uniformly used throughout the country and at diplomatic missions and consular offices of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam abroad from May 6, 1999, replacing any previously issued Vietnamese nationality-related documents.
Article 3. The Department of Justice, diplomatic missions, and consular offices of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam abroad shall organize the printing of sample nationality documents in accordance with the format and content stipulated in the sample nationality documents attached to this Decision, fully meeting requirements for handling Vietnamese nationality-related matters.
Article 4. The issuance of sample nationality documents must comply with regulations.
Article 5. It is strictly prohibited to print and use sample nationality documents contrary to the provisions of this Decision.
Article 6. This Decision takes effect from May 6, 1999.
Article 7. The Director of the Office, Directors of the International Cooperation Department, Notarization, Appraisal, Civil Status, Nationality, and Personal History Records Management Department, Heads of Justice Departments, and diplomatic missions and consular offices of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam are responsible for implementing this Decision./.
