THE GOVERNMENT

Pursuant to the Law on Organization of the Government dated December 25, 2001;

Pursuant to the Law on Standards and Technical Regulations dated June 29, 2006;

Pursuant to the Law on Product Quality and Commodities dated November 21, 2007;

Considering the proposal of the Minister of Science and Technology,

DECREE:

Clause 4 of Article 6Amending certain Articles of Decree No. 127/2007/NĐ-CP dated August 1, 2007 of the Government detailing the implementation of certain provisions of the Law on Standards and Technical Regulations as follows:

1. Amend Clause 2 of Article 7

a) The second sentence of Point a is amended as follows:

"The conversion of industry standards to national standards must be completed before December 31, 2011."

b) The second sentence of Point b is amended as follows:

"The review, amendment, supplementation of content, and conversion of industry standards to national standards must be completed before December 31, 2011."

2. Amend Clause 2 of Article 11

a) The second sentence of Point a is amended as follows:

"The conversion of Vietnamese standards, mandatory industry standards to national technical regulations must be completed before December 31, 2011."

b) The second sentence of Point b is amended as follows:

"The review, amendment, supplementation of content, and conversion of Vietnamese standards, mandatory industry standards to national technical regulations must be completed before December 31, 2011."

3. Amend Clause 2 of Article 12

a) The second sentence of Point a is amended as follows:

"The conversion of technical regulations, procedures, norms, standards, and mandatory technical documents to national technical regulations must be completed before December 31, 2011."

b) The second sentence of Point b is amended as follows:

"The review, amendment, supplementation of content, and conversion of technical regulations, procedures, norms, standards, and mandatory technical documents to national technical regulations must be completed before December 31, 2011."

Article 2. Amending Clause 1 of Article 35 of Decree No. 132/2008/NĐ-CP dated December 31, 2008 of the Government detailing the implementation of certain provisions of the Law on Product and Goods Quality as follows:

"1. Vietnamese standards, industry standards, and mandatory technical regulations, procedures, norms, standards, and technical documents must be converted to national technical regulations according to the laws on standards and technical regulations and continue to be used for managing product and goods quality until these documents are converted into national technical regulations."

Article 3. Effectiveness

1. This Decree takes effect from September 22, 2009.

2. Ministers, Heads of ministerial-level agencies, Heads of government-affiliated agencies, Chairpersons of provincial and centrally governed city People's Committees are responsible for implementing this Decree./.
