THE MINISTER OF EDUCATION AND TRAINING

Pursuant to Decree No. 178/2007/NĐ-CP dated December 3, 2007 of the Government stipulating the functions, tasks, powers, and organizational structure of Ministries and ministerial-level agencies;

Pursuant to Decree No. 85/2003/NĐ-CP dated July 18, 2003 of the Government stipulating the functions, tasks, powers, and organizational structure of the Ministry of Education and Training;

Pursuant to Decree No. 75/2006/NĐ-CP dated August 2, 2006 of the Government detailing and guiding the implementation of certain provisions of the Education Law;

Pursuant to the conclusion in the Acceptance Report No. 1824/TM-HĐTĐ dated November 22, 2007 of the Appraisal Council for the curriculum and textbooks of national defense - security education;

At the proposal of the Director of the Department of National Defense Education,

DECISION:

Article 1. This Decision promulgates the National Defense - Security Education Program for Secondary Schools attached hereto.

Article 2. This Decision shall take effect fifteen days from the date of publication in the Official Gazette and shall replace the National Defense - Security Education subject program in the secondary school general education curriculum issued pursuant to Decision No. 16/2006/QĐ-BGDĐT dated May 5, 2006 of the Minister of Education and Training. Any previous provisions contrary to this Decision are hereby abolished. The implementation of the Program issued under this Decision for grade 10, grade 11, and grade 12 will commence from the 2008-2009 academic year.

Article 3. The Heads of the Office, Directors of the Departments of National Defense Education, General Secondary Education, heads of relevant units under the Ministry of Education and Training; directors of provincial education and training departments; principals of secondary schools, comprehensive schools with multiple levels, and heads of educational institutions with secondary level education are responsible for implementing this Decision./.
