On adjusting the scholarship level for students from ethnic minority groups studying at boarding schools for ethnic minorities and preparatory universities as prescribed in Decision No. 194/2001/QĐ-TTg

PRIME MINISTER

Pursuant to the Law on Organization of the Government dated December 25, 2001;

Pursuant to the Education Law dated June 14, 2005;

promulgates a Decree stipulating the criteria for stratification, ranking framework, and ranking standards for higher education institutions.

DECISION:

Article 1. Increase the policy scholarship level for students from ethnic minority groups currently studying at boarding schools for ethnic minorities and preparatory universities receiving policy scholarships as stipulated in Clause 1, Article 1 of Decision No. 194/2001/QĐ-TTg dated December 21, 2001 of the Prime Minister on scholarships and social allowances for students at public training institutions from VND 160,000/person/month to VND 280,000/person/month starting January 1, 2006.

Article 2. The scholarship level prescribed in Article 1 of this Decision shall be adjusted proportionally with the adjustment of the national minimum wage from January 1, 2006.

Article 3. The Ministry of Finance shall allocate in the state budget at all levels as prescribed by the State Budget Law to implement the payment of scholarships as stipulated in Article 1 of this Decision.

Article 4. This Decision takes effect fifteen days after its publication in the Official Gazette and replaces the scholarship level prescribed in Decision No. 194/2001/QĐ-TTg dated December 21, 2001 of the Prime Minister for the subjects of students and trainees specified in Article 1 of this Decision.

Article 5. THE MINISTERS, HEADS OF GOVERNMENT-LEVEL MINISTRIES, HEADS OF GOVERNMENT-LEVEL AGENCIES, AND CHAIRMEN OF PROVINCE AND CITY PEOPLE'S COMMITTEES DIRECTLY UNDER THE CENTRAL GOVERNMENT SHALL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR ENFORCING THIS DECISION./.
