Regarding the adjustment of policy scholarships and social allowances for ethnic minority students studying at public training institutions as stipulated in Decision No. 1121/1997/QĐ-TTg dated December 23, 1997 of the Government Prime Minister
PRIME MINISTER
Pursuant to the Government Organization Law dated September 30, 1992;
At the proposal of the Minister of Education and Training and the Minister of Finance,
DECISION:
Article 1. The policy scholarship levels and social allowances for ethnic minority students studying at public training institutions who are entitled to policy scholarships and social allowances as prescribed in Decision No. 1121/1997/QĐ-TTg dated December 23, 1997 of the Government Prime Minister on scholarships and social allowances for students at public training institutions shall be adjusted as follows:
1. Increase the policy scholarship level from 120,000 VND/person/month to 160,000 VND/person/month applicable to undergraduate students, university preparatory students at ethnic minority universities, and boarding students at ethnic minority secondary schools.
2. Increase the social allowance level from 100,000 VND/person/month to 140,000 VND/person/month applicable to high school and university students from mountainous, remote areas, and areas with particularly difficult socio-economic conditions studying at public training institutions in regular full-time programs.
Article 2. The Ministry of Education and Training shall take the lead and coordinate with the Ministry of Finance to guide the implementation of the adjustment of policy scholarships and social allowances for the subjects specified in Clause 1 and Clause 2 of Article 1 of this Decision.
Article 3. The Ministry of Finance shall allocate additional scholarship funds and social allowances for the subjects specified in Clause 1 and Clause 2 of Article 1 of this Decision in the state budget estimates at all levels according to the current classification.
Article 4. This Decision takes effect from January 1, 2002 and replaces the provisions on policy scholarships and social allowances for ethnic minority students in Decision No. 1121/1997/QĐ-TTg of the Government Prime Minister.
Article 5. Ministers, Heads of ministerial-level agencies, Heads of government-affiliated agencies, Chairpersons of provincial and municipal People's Committees directly under the Central Government are responsible for implementing this Decision.
