Collecting basic information on rural areas; agriculture, forestry, and fisheries (AFF) to serve research and evaluation of the scale and structure of rural labor force; AFF; land size, production conditions of AFF; changes in rural infrastructure; implementation of certain components of national programs and targets in rural areas and AFF; building databases on AFF and rural areas; establishing sampling frames for other sample surveys; international comparisons.

Conduct a comprehensive investigation combined with a sample survey

1. Survey subjects: Actual permanent residents in households (excluding those living in areas under separate management of the military and public security, but including households of the military and public security residing in civilian areas of the commune/district/town being surveyed).

Labor Force and Employment Survey

Collecting information reflecting the current state of the labor force and employment to meet management requirements, efficient exploitation and utilization, and rational development of labor market resources; serving the compilation of labor and employment statistical indicators prescribed in the national statistical indicator system.

1. Survey subjects: Actual permanent residents in households.

2. Survey units: Households.

- For household members: name, relationship to the head of the household, gender, age, ethnicity;

Accurately assess the actual situation of land use in each administrative unit at all levels; serve as a basis for evaluating land management over the past five years and provide grounds for proposing mechanisms, policies, and measures to strengthen state management of land and improve the efficiency of land use; serve as a basis for planning and adjusting land use plans; provide information to monitor, supervise, and evaluate land management and use in each locality as stipulated by the Land Law.

Surveying agricultural crop area

Collecting data on the planting area of various annual and perennial crops for each production season for annual crops and each year for perennial crops in each locality to serve as a basis for calculating certain indicators such as: Crop yield, planting area structure, land utilization coefficient.

1. Survey subjects: Annual agricultural crops; concentrated perennial crops.

2. Survey units: Village (commune, ward) of the commune (hereinafter referred to as village) that plants annual crops during the production season; has concentrated perennial crop areas; wards, towns with a total planting area of annual crops of 5 hectares or more per season or perennial crops of 5 hectares or more; enterprises, cooperatives, public institutions that plant agricultural crops during the survey period.

1. Survey subjects: Various types of agricultural crops.

Collect basic information on the production and business situation of the industry to serve as the basis for compiling and summarizing certain monthly industrial statistical indicators, serving the management work of state agencies at all levels and meeting the information needs of investors and other users of information.

1. Survey subjects: Production and business establishments engaged in industrial production activities.

2. Survey units: Groups; Corporations; enterprises (subsidiaries under enterprises engaged in industrial production activities); cooperatives and individual production and business establishments engaged in industrial production activities.

Collect information on various types of commercial infrastructure including: markets, supermarkets, shopping centers, etc., at each locality with the aim of summarizing and evaluating investment and development situations of these types of commercial infrastructure nationwide to serve policy planning and management of commercial infrastructure.

1. Survey subjects: Types of commercial infrastructure: Markets, supermarkets, shopping centers.

2. Survey units: Provincial Departments of Industry and Trade under the central government; business establishments operating in markets, supermarkets, shopping centers; market management organizations, supermarket management organizations, shopping center management organizations.
