DECISION
Regarding the announcement of road loads for national highways
THE MINISTER OF TRANSPORTATION
WHEREAS, the Road Traffic Law dated June 29, 2001;
Pursuant to Decree No. 22/CP dated March 22, 1994 of the Government on the tasks, powers, responsibilities for state management and organizational structure of the Ministry of Transport;
Considering the upgrading, renovation, and current status of National Highways;
Upon the proposal of the Director of the Vietnam Highway Administration, the Head of the Legal Affairs Department under the Ministry of Transport, and the Head of the Science and Technology Department.
DECISION:
Article 1||| Announce the road load including the axle load of vehicles specified in Appendix I and the total permissible weight of vehicles allowed to operate on national highways and sections of national highways as stipulated in Appendix II attached hereto. This announcement will be supplemented and adjusted when deemed necessary.
Article 2. Organizations and individuals owning motor vehicles, special-purpose vehicles with axle load or total vehicle weight exceeding the announced values, wishing to operate on the national highways mentioned in Article 1, must approach the competent traffic management authority as prescribed in Circular No. 21/2001/TT-BGTVT dated December 10, 2001 of the Ministry of Transport, to receive guidance on implementing measures to ensure traffic safety or to complete procedures for obtaining a circulation permit.
Article 3. This Decision takes effect from January 1, 2002. Previous regulations on road loads for national highways listed in Appendix II of Article 1 are hereby abolished.
Article 4. The Heads of the Ministry's Office, the Director of the Vietnam Highway Administration, the Director of the Inspection and Quality Management Department of Transport Works, the Heads of the Science and Technology Department, the Legal Affairs Department, the Directors of Provincial Departments of Transport and Public Works, and the heads of related agencies are responsible for enforcing this Decision.
