Supplementing and amending the names and scientific names for certain substances in the List of Narcotic Drugs and Precursors

amending and supplementing Decree No. 67/2001/ND-CP dated October 1, 2001

THE GOVERNMENT

Pursuant to the Law on Organization of the Government dated December 25, 2001;

Pursuant to the Law on Prevention and Control of Narcotics dated December 9, 2000 (amended and supplemented in 2008);

Considering the proposals of the Minister of Public Security, the Minister of Health, the Minister of Industry and Trade, and the Minister of Science and Technology,

DECREE:

Article 1. Supplementing and amending the names and scientific names of certain substances in the lists of narcotic drugs issued together with Decree No. 67/2001/ND-CP dated October 1, 2001 of the Government issuing lists of narcotic drugs and precursors as follows:

3. Amending the name and scientific name of the substance Metamfetamine racemate, scientific name: (+)-N,α-dimethylphenethylamine (item number 152 in Category II) to Methamphetamine racemate, scientific name: (±)-N,α-dimethylphenethylamine.

Article 2. Amend "Safrol, Isosafrol or any compound containing Safrol or Isosafrol" to "Essential oil or any mixture containing Safrol, Isosafrol" as stipulated in Point c Clause 3 Article 1 of Decree No. 163/2007/ND-CP dated November 12, 2007 of the Government amending, supplementing, transferring, and removing certain substances from the list of narcotic drugs and precursors issued together with Decree No. 67/2001/ND-CP dated October 1, 2001 of the Government issuing lists of narcotic drugs and precursors.

Article 3. This Decree takes effect from April 10, 2011.

Article 4. The Ministers, Heads of ministerial-level agencies, Heads of government-attached agencies, Chairpersons of provincial People's Committees under the central city shall be responsible for implementing this Decree./.
